![]() ![]() A formidable agent, Heather sells houses at an impressive rate and manages to stay on the periphery of all the drama, though she does tend to side with the bitchy side of the office (read: Christine and Davina). Heather Rae Young Heather Rae Young (Photo: Netflix)įirst impressions of Heather paint her as a ditz, but there’s more to her than meets the eye. ![]() She’s slow to start selling houses, but once she does there’s no stopping her – you can’t help but root for Amanza. The newest agent at the brokerage, Amanza arrived on Selling Sunset in season two having decided to study for her license to sell houses after years as a stager (the person who decorates a house before it’s sold).Ī single mother of two, Amanza gets unfairly told off for being late all the time with everyone (except best friends Mary and Chrishell) refusing to acknowledge her court proceedings to gain custody over her children. Amanza Smith Amanza Smith (Photo: Netflix) There were concerns that Romain was marrying the agent for her money, an argument that led to him banning Davina from their wedding. Outside of work, Mary married a French model 12 years her junior at the end of the first season. This is a huge contention point for the other agents, who regularly complain that Mary is given preferential treatment and offered more listings because of her close relationship with Jason. Mary has been friends with the owner of The Oppenheim Group, Jason, for years and dated him for one. Mary Fitzgerald Mary Fitzgerald (Photo: Netflix) She did once prematurely reveal Maya’s pregnancy, though. The other agents are wary of how nice Chrishell is and regularly make sly digs at her, but she just lets the drama wash over her. ![]() Possibly the sweetest woman on the planet, the third series documented Chrishell’s divorce from This Is Us actor Justin Hartley. Chrishell Stause Chrishell Stause(Photo: Netflix)Ĭhrishell started the series out as the new girl and as a married woman. Not to offer too many spoilers, but there were black and white swans present. In terms of her personal life, the third season saw Christine get married to her billionaire boyfriend, Christian Richard, in the most lavish, over-the-top wedding only Christine could get away with. The show sets Christine up to be the villain, but she’s a teddy bear really and the show wouldn’t be the same without her. She unashamedly talks about her love of Botox (she once offered free treatments at an open house event) and is determined to be the best agent at the brokerage – i.e. Christine Quinn Christine Quinn (Photo: Netflix)ĭefinitely the most outspoken of the agents, Christine refers to herself as “gothic Barbie” and is responsible for most – if not all – the drama. According to its website, the company has sold over $1 billion worth of property. It’s owned by Jason Oppenheim (more on him later) and employs all the other cast members as agents to sell luxury homes across Los Angeles. This is the brokerage company around which Selling Sunset revolves. If you’re wanting to get involved in the gossip but don’t have twelve hours of your life to dedicate to other people’s drama, here’s a handy cheat sheet for all you need to know. It can all be a little daunting for someone who’s never delved into the world of The Oppenheim Group and its agents. It feels like you can’t log on to the internet without reading a (usually disparaging) opinion on Davina’s behaviour or a joke about Christine’s most extravagant outfit. The Netflix series, which has just released its third season, is the third most watched show on the service at the time of writing, behind heavy-hitters The Fall and The Umbrella Academy. While TOWIE may have passed its sell-by date and the heyday of The Hills is long gone, another series has risen to take their place: Selling Sunset. There are two types of television watchers in this world: those who cannot stand reality TV, who think it’s shallow, meaningless and cheap, and those who love reality TV… because it’s shallow, meaningless and cheap.
